Bulgogi 불고기 (Korean Marinated Beef)
Ingredients:
500 g Sirloin Beef, sliced thinly
1 bunch fresh Enoki
Mushrooms, cleaned and roots removed
1 medium Yellow Onion,
sliced
1 small Carrot, julienned
1 stalk Green Onion,
chopped
1 Red/Green Chili, chopped *optional
1 Red/Green Chili, chopped *optional
1 tbsp toasted Sesame
Seeds
Bulgogi Sauce:
2/3 cup Soy Sauce
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1 tbsp Brown Rice Syrup
1/3 cup crushed Asian Pear
or Pear Juice
1/3 cup Cooking Wine
1 1/2 tbsp Garlic, minced
1/2 tsp Ginger, minced
1 tbsp Asian Sesame Oil
a dash of ground Black Pepper
Instructions:
In a large bowl, add-in all the ingredients for the bulgogi
sauce. Mix well.
Add-in the beef slices; mix well.
Then mix-in the enoki mushrooms, onions, carrots, and
green onions. Carefully toss to coat with the sauce.
Cover with plastic wrap or foil, and place in the fridge
for an hour or a day to marinate.
Cook the marinated beef in a heated pan or skillet on
medium high, until completely cooked.
Transfer in a platter and sprinkle sesame seeds on
top before serving.
Serve with steamed Rice, with Iceberg Lettuce Leaves and Ssamjang (Korean Spicy Dipping Sauce).
