Belgian Waffles

Belgian Waffles

Ingredients:
2 cups Flour
2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt
2 tbsp Granulated Sugar
4 Eggs, separated
1/2 tsp Vanilla
4 tbsp Unsalted Butter, melted
2 cups Milk, room temperature

Toppings:
Maple Syrup and Butter
Fruits, Nuts, Ice cream, Choco Syrup (optional)
Cream Cheese (optional)

You will also need:
Belgian Waffle Iron
Non-stick Cooking Spray, for waffle iron

Instructions:
Preheat the waffle iron.
In large bowl, add-in the flour, baking powder, and. Mix well, and set aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk-in the egg yolks and sugar, until the yolks are pale yellow and light.
Add the vanilla, melted butter, and milk to the egg mixture. Whisk to thoroughly combine.
Then, add the egg-milk mixture to the bowl with the flour mixture and mix gently. Do not over beat!

With clean beaters, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer, about 1 minute, until they have reached the soft peak stage.

Gently fold the egg whites into the waffle batter.

Spray the preheated waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray.

Ladle batter into the waffle iron, per the manufacturer's instructions. (Most waffle irons will take 2/3- 1 cup of batter, but some may hold more.)
Close and cook until golden brown, which will take 2 to 4 minutes, depending on your waffle iron.

Serve with butter and maple syrup; or cream cheese; or even top with ice cream and drizzle with chocolate syrup, garnish with fruits and nuts.

Happy Eating!!
